Gross Indecency

The Daily Iowan has a great article about Dreamwell's latest show, Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, which opens tonight. It's a show I've been wanting Dreamwell to do for many years but we had to wait for a while because the University of Iowa was planning a production of it when I first proposed it.

You can make reservations through the website or by calling 541-0140.

I won't have a chance to see it until next weekend, so if anyone goes, let me know what you think.

It was okay. The acting was very strong (though some of the accents suspect and Brewbaker's wig was distracting), but I had problems with both the script (particularly in the first act) and the staging. I'll be interested in hearing your thoughts once you've seen it.

He wears a wig? That alone is worth the price of admission.
